“Sarajevo Roses” is a collection of poetry and photographs based upon the second Kosovo campaign in 2002-2003. Then-Captain (now-Colonel) Jason Markiewitz was forward deployed to the Balkans in 2003 at the end of the second Kosovo campaign, and with his NATO contingent experienced the harrowing after-effects of the war-torn region.
