The 1960s saw Saint Paul’s East Side at its best.
Anchored by Hamm’s Brewery, 3M, and Whirlpool, East Side Pride ran deep through generations of families who lived, worked, and grew there. It was home to the two biggest high schools in the state-fierce rivals whose spirit defined the community. The playgrounds were always full, and hockey was king.
Everything seemed ideal. But, like anywhere else in the world, the East Side had its share of heartache and tragedy.
