Alone Across the Skybridge is the story of my cancer journey, centered around many of my Facebook journal entries, along with backstories and pictures made from the time I was diagnosed with stage 4 diffuse large B cell lymphoma in December 2020 and throughout the debilitating, caustic chemo treatments and up to the recovery phase in December 2021. The cancer journey of a thirty-plus-year registered nurse–going from a caregiver and nurse consultant to a cancer patient during the COVID madness of 2021–was not only a physical and mental journey but also a spiritual one. It was also an awakening to the many problems occurring in our health-care industry. Some events from my cancer journey left painful memories, but many gave me spiritual growth like I had never experienced before. In this book, I try to rightly divide all the components of my cancer journey through details, humor, and how God played a key role in my survival from stage 4 lymphoma. God’s tapestry is woven all throughout my cancer journey, and His hand is clearly seen in many of the events leading up to and through my battle with lymphoma.
