Rachab, the spirit of wasting is not hard to overcome if you’ve first mastered the spirit of rejection. As we examine Scripture, we’ll note that the double binds mentioned there always involve denial of access to the atonement. We can’t lose our salvation, but we can lose some of its temporal benefits. Even Jesus didn’t find dismantling such double binds easy, but He provides us with a way forward.
